AURORA

Aurora was born from a passion for travel and fashion, along with a desire to make a difference. The fashion industry is the second-largest polluter in the world, and the environmental damage is increasing as the industry grows. With Aurora, we want to make a change and support the environment instead of tearing it apart. Aurora is a brand that believes in sustainability and supporting the planet. With our passion for travelling, we have seen the negative effects that have been left on the land, and we want to create a fashion brand that does things differently. We want to provide the opportunity for all women to feel empowered to buy sustainably and look great whilst doing it! Our motto is 'Look Great, Do Great, Feel Great!', and this is how we wish to make the women associated with our brand feel.

Our Values

Sustainable

In a quest for a more sustainable planet. We are continuously making it our mission to provide beautiful, timeless, swim and activewear, utilising the waste that has already been created. We ensure not to use single-use plastics, we up-cycle waste, and we offset our carbon emissions.

Accessible

We pledge to make sustainable, slow fashion accessible by keeping the price to the consumer as low as we can, without affecting the quality of the product or the livelihoods of the people who make them.
‚Äč

Transparent

We want to ensure that we are honest and open, in all that we do so that you can trust in us and trust in the products you buy.
‚Äč

Conscious

We are conscious of the life-cycle of our products. We care about who makes them, the fabric they're made from, how they are packaged and ensuring they are durable quality made to last.

Our Fabric

We believe that our planet and its oceans deserve a break, so instead of creating more waste, we use RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) which is an up-cycled marine waste fabric! With one million plastic bottles, sold per minute around the globe and only 9% being recycled, we are on a mission to capture these valuable resources and give them new life. RPET is created by cleaning the plastic water bottles that have been taken from marine waste, shredding the bottles into pellets, crushing and melting them and finally spinning the melted plastic into thread. Impressive right? he great thing about RPET fabric is that it uses 85% less energy than its virgin counterparts, creates 65% fewer emissions and requires 90% less water. So why wouldn't we want to use it?! Along with all the environmental benefits, RPET is a great quality fabric. It is sustainable, durable, soft and has good resistance to UV, making it the perfect addition to your wardrobe.

Charity Partnerships

Meals for Makers

Aurora provides meals for our makers once a month as a thank you and recognition of their hard work. All too often the garment workers are left outside of the recognition process. It is those in the head office/main business team who are recognised and rewarded for their hard work but without the suppliers and garment workers there would be no success to be recognised. For every purchase you make, a percentage of profits will be going towards this cause.

One Tree Planted

We are partnered with One Tree Planted and pledge to plant a tree with every purchase made. Planting is a great way to help sequester carbon emissions. Through photosynthesis, trees absorb carbon dioxide to produce oxygen and wood.‚Äč Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink and provide habitat to over 80% of the world's terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. Have you ever taken Aspirin? It comes from the bark of a tree!

The Sea Turtle Conservancy

Did you know that 100% of sea turtle species are known to ingest plastic?
Ingesting just one single piece of plastic has a 22% chance of killing a sea turtle.
This is something that really saddens us at Aurora. So, we are taking a stand and utilising this waste, by removing it from the oceans and creating fabric. We know what we are doing is not enough and in some cases, the damage has already been done, which is why we have chosen to support the Sea Turtle Conservancy by donating a profit share from every order.
