Fulfilled by our friends at 2nd Story Goods
The Product:
Designed with the active maker in mind this roll up tool pouch also doubles as a half apron. Travel with it anywhere with all your things rolled up and wear it around your waist when you are using it. We LOVE this design! So versatile! The pockets range in size from small enough to hold a few fine brushes or pens to big enough for a large cell phone.
The Story:
We began sewing in the early days of 2nd Story Goods, way back in 2011. Today, our in-house sewing group is made up of 2 men and 4 women. Most of our fabric is bought and up-cycled from the surplus in the local market. If you ever find yourself at our homebase in Gonaives, joyful singing and laughter can often be heard in conjunction with the hum of the sewing machines. It is one of our very favorite sounds!
Josias is our local screen-printer who makes our word patches. His method involves taking the design and transferring it to his DYI screen using emulsion and a few long minutes exposed to the Caribbean sunshine. We are amazed at his tenacity and creative capabilities!
The Details:
-dimensions: 18” x 18”
-100% cotton (sourced in local market)

About the Partner & Their Impact:
Our Impact Partner, 2nd Story Goods understands how it feels to want to buy things that are good for the people who made them, the planet, and you. This is why they have been working on the ground with their artisans in Gonaives, Haiti for 10 years, creating recycled, handcrafted goods for a livable wage. Last year, their impact enabled over 108 children to stay in school, not because of hand-outs, but through the dignity of their parents’ work with 2nd Story Goods.
