The Product:

These are the quintessential earrings. Get a brighter pair like blue, green or red to add a pop of color or keep it minimal with black or cream. Or get a few pairs so you have them on deck for whatever each day brings!

Fun fact: These are named after a neighborhood in our beloved city where we live and work, Gonaives!

The Story:

Over the course of several days, locally sourced dry clay is made into a moldable form, kneaded into shape, kiln-fired, glazed and fired again. The group started with just 2 people who used 50 cents to buy some clay and a bowl to use as a kiln. Today, our clay group, made up of 14 people, supports up to 20 families in Gonaives. A true redemptive story of starting with what you have and watching it multiply!

Our jewelry products are handmade in-house by our amazing jewelry team.

This product was touched by both of these workshops!

The Details:

-materials: stainless steel earstud, clay

About the Partner & Their Impact:

Our Impact Partner, 2nd Story Goods understands how it feels to want to buy things that are good for the people who made them, the planet, and you. This is why they have been working on the ground with their artisans in Gonaives, Haiti for 10 years, creating recycled, handcrafted goods for a livable wage. Last year, their impact enabled over 108 children to stay in school, not because of hand-outs, but through the dignity of their parents’ work with 2nd Story Goods.

2nd Story Goods

Why do we partner with 2nd Story Goods?
2nd Story Goods was one of our first partners and one of our most popular. They believe in providing fair wages to the craftsmen and artisans who produce their beautiful goods. That's why 2nd Story Goods pays artisans on average 135% above minimum wage, upfront, for their work.

They also believe in embedding their company in the communities that produce their goods. That's why the Director of 2nd Story Goods, Kathy Brooks, lives full-time in Jubilee, Haiti. She works tirelessly to cultivate community with the local artisans with whom she works.
