Panama Gesha Natural Lot 290
Farm Name: Janson Coffee Farm Lot 290
Variety: Green Tip Gesha
Process: Natural 48 hours fermentation
Elevation: 1700 m
Region: Panama Volcán
Gesha coffee is known to have some of the highest cup scores in the world. The Gesha variety originated in Ethiopia, but it wasn’t until 2007 in Panama that this variety made a name for itself when it broke records for one of the most expensive coffee ever sold in Best of Panama. Ever since, producers started growing more microlot varieties and experimenting with new coffee processing methods, which allow producers to get paid more for their coffee. This Gesha is from family owned Janson Farm, established in 1941, located between the Tisingal and Baru volcanoes. Quality production with harmony is Janson’s goal, keeping a balance of nutrients in the soil using enzyme microorganisms, while using no pesticides or herbicides. Plantations are separated by forests, which serve as natural barriers against pests and protect the natural flora and fauna. 400 solar panels produce the energy for the farms. This natural processed Gesha coffee is wildly complex, with intense sweetness and clarity.
We taste: Intense white sugar sweetness, floral elements, notes of black tea, pear and apple with a pleasant and delicate body
